The RFP # R24-177 be awarded to Waste Connections Canada (WCC) to service forty-three (43) Chatham-Kent municipal facilities for a one-year term at an estimated cost of $61,896 (including HST), with a possible two, one-year extensions.

17(a) — CKPS CCTV Project Birds Eye View Expansion

Council approve recommendations to expand the Closed-Circuit Television System project “Birds Eye View”, to deploy additional cameras at core locations in downtown Chatham, Wallaceburg, Blenheim, Ridgetown, Tilbury, Dresden, Wheatley and Thamesville, at a cost of $989,315 (including HST).

In keeping with the MCK’s declaration of a climate emergency, other areas should be assessed to ensure we are protecting the environment and also ensuring the safety of our citizens.

Prior to any tree removal, the Ontario Ministry of the Environment, the LTVCA and the Sydenham Field Naturalists be consulted to determine if roosting, nesting or migratory habitats will be affected.

A second opinion regarding the 30 trees on Victoria Avenue slated for removal or potential removal, be commissioned to an arborist with a stated emphasis on preservation.”
