One-time capital funding in the amount of $1,559,061.00 for the purchase of two (2) new tandem axle snowplow/salter units and one (1) new triaxle snowplow/salter unit be approved and funded from the Municipal Fleet Reserve (17866).
Administration be given the authority to procure these additional units immediately.
A business case be brought to the 2028 Budget process for consideration to reduce the Public Works operating budget as described in this report.
The General Manager of Infrastructure and Engineering Services (I&ES) be authorized to negotiate and execute a one-year contract for the supply and operation of tandem axle snowplows/salter units for the 2026/2027 winter control season, continuing the services previously provided under project R23-303, with such agreement being in a form and on terms satisfactory with General Manager of I&ES and the Director of Legal Services."
