11a — Burk Drainage Works - initiate abandonment of groynes and seawalls

Council initiate abandonment, under section 84(2) of the Drainage Act, of all groynes and seawalls that are part of the Burk Drainage Works.

11a — Burk Drainage Works - lobby for shoreline protection funding

That Council direct administration to lobby the Provincial and Federal governments for funds for application to new shoreline protection along Erie Shore Drive and related engineering reports with the intention of those funds reducing and deferring costs to residents and agricultural lands and increasing protection.

11a — Burk Drainage Works - postpone recommendations 1 & 2

That recommendations 1 & 2 regarding the preliminary report for the Burke Drainage Works be postponed until a final decision of the Court of the Drainage Referee on the outstanding Drainage Act hearing on this matter, including any appeals.

11a — Burk Drainage Works - proceed with final report Option 1A

Council consider the Preliminary Report for the Burk Drainage Works and instruct the Drainage Engineer to proceed with the preparation of a final report for the recommended Option 1A under section 78 of the Drainage Act.

12a — By-laws first reading

That the by-laws be taken as read for a first time.

12b — By-laws second reading

That the by-laws be taken as read for a second time

12e — By-laws third and final reading

That the by-laws be taken as read for a third time and finally passed.

13 — Adjournment

That Chatham-Kent Council adjourn to its next Meeting to be held on Monday, September 25, 2023 and that Chatham-Kent Council authorize itself to meet in closed session on that day to discuss any matters permitted by The Municipal Act.
