2026-04-27 — Erieau kayak launch
d.Motion by Councillor Ceccacci re Update Report on Kayak Launch in Erieau "Whereas Chatham-Kent efforts to enhance recreational infrastructure and water access;
And whereas Stass Lane in Erieau and Third Street were the two sites that had been selected as a potential location for a kayak launch subject to detail design;
And whereas designs have been undertaken and been discussed through a public consultation process.
Be it resolved the administration provide an update to Council on the results of the detail design and public consultation received to date. That the report provides a summary on any potential concerns related to safety, parking, drainage, environmental impact, accessibility, long-term maintenance, and overall cost-effectiveness and feasibility of the selected location and projects, and if viability from a costing perspective is still viable
Given the financial and community implications of this initiative, a thorough evaluation at this stage would ensure that public funds are being allocated responsibly and that the outcome serves the best interests of residents and the community."
