MovedCouncillor CeccacciSecondedCouncillor McGrailWhereas the Municipality of Chatham-Kent is comprised of a number of unique and vibrant communities, each with distinct downtown areas, tourism opportunities, recreation and cultural assets, and investment opportunities;
And whereas there is an opportunity to enhance awareness, investment, and visitation to these communities through a coordinated and strategic marketing and communications campaign;
And whereas a dedicated marketing and communications campaign would support local businesses, increase activity in downtowns, strengthen tourism, connect communities, and contribute to economic growth across Chatham-Kent.
Therefore be it resolved that:
Mayor and Council of the Municipality of Chatham-Kent approve funding in the amount of $150,000 to be funded one time from the Strategic Reserve for the establishment of an ongoing marketing and communications campaign focused on promoting, supporting, and driving revenue to Chatham-Kent’s unique communities, including their downtowns, tourism attractions, small businesses, and recreation and cultural assets.
Administration be directed to develop and implement the campaign, including branding, digital and traditional marketing assets, and engagement and collaboration with local stakeholders.
